About Leslie

img_3814Hi! My name is Leslie and I am a mother of a second grader, a newlywed, a writer, and a former Lactation Counselor. I work in the healthcare industry and I am also a part-time community educator. I have a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Health Policy and Administration, Summa Cum Laude. I love talking about health, wellness, parenting, motherhood, saving money, living big on a budget, and being a skeptical, wise consumer. I know what it’s like to be dirt broke in poverty without a penny to my name, and I also know what it’s like  to cut a path out of that life to one that’s more successful. I am passionate about women’s freedom and power.  I love being a working mom but secretly dream about being a housewife, lol. My purest truest self is honestly my mommy self, who is like, making a paper flower, while stirring a pot of homemade soup and dreaming of an early bed time whilst I watch a youtube video about kitchen organization or Disney World. Please don’t tell my former self, a partying, drinking promiscuous New Yorker, playwright, drama nerd who loves dirty jokes. Both she and I have very STRONG OPINIONS. All of my views shared here on my blog, in my other writing, as well as on my social media pages, facebook, instagram, and twitter, are my own and do not reflect the views of any of my employers, past or present.

The contents of my blog and social media accounts are for informational and entertainment purposes only. Sometimes I will discuss public health or breastfeeding matters, but this content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on The Way At Home Mom.
